Young cellists Luka Sulic and Stjephan Hauser have created 2CELLOS which has brought the cello to a new exciting level. They play anything from classical to pop and rock. 2CELLOS rose to fame in 2011 when their version of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” took the YouTube world by storm, which as right now, has 9,828,816 views. The outbreak of the “Smooth Criminal” video lead to a record deal with Sony Masterworks and they joined Sir Elton John on his worldwide tour. 2CELLOS’ main focus is playing live where they have been on TV shows like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Ellen DeGeneres Show (multiple times) and many others. The two boys have been playing the cello since they were five years old and they both graduated from music colleges. Their new album CELLOVERSE was released in January with covers including AC/DC, Michael Jackson, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. They also collaborated on various projects with winning producers T-Bone Burnett and Humberto Gatica and with the legendary film composer James Newton Howard. 2CELLOS have no limits when it comes to performing live and are equally as impressive when playing Bach and Vivaldi as they are when rocking out AC/DC.
