The Key Club is holding a “Brave the Shave” event on May 26 at Bethel High School from 3-6 p.m. This is an outdoor event where people can sign up and have their heads shaved by professional barbers in support of and in solidarity with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and the children they serve.
St. Baldrick’s was created to develop therapies, treatments and someday- a cure for childhood cancer. 100 percent of their proceeds help fund children’s cancer research.
The Key Club hopes to make this a community event. For extra incentives, there will be raffles, prizes and more.
There are many ways the community can take part in the event. You can become a “shavee” (staff or student with parental permission!), a member of a “shavee” team, or donate to the cause.
No matter how big or small the donation is, it will help children battling various cancers.
If you would like to be a “shavee” and get your head shaved from certified barbers, please email Ariana LeCates, secretary of the Key Club at 23lecaaria@bethel.k12.ct.us, or contact Ms. Taborsak or Ms. Riccio-Bronn.
