Wildcat Baseball’s First Season Win
April 7, 2012
Notre Dame-Fairfield & Bethel players line up to shake hands after a wild 2-3 extra-inning win for the Wildcats. In the bottom of the 7th, junior shortstop Cody Johnson made a tremendous diving play to get the out at home amidst a tense bases loaded situation. The play was instrumental in presenting Bethel with their first win of the season.
Junior Michael Crimi looks on as Bethel tries to break the 0-0 tie in the 5th inning. Later in the game, Crimi would give the Wildcats a stellar 2-inning relief performance, yielding two runs.
Bethel first baseman Matt LaCorey (’14) anticipates the throw on a pickoff play early in the game. After an injury sustained by starting pitcher Tyler Slavick, LaCorey would go on to pitch 5 strong innings of no-run ball.
