This week marks the start of BHS fall sports teams competitions!
Boys Cross Country (0-3) lost to Brookfield, New Fairfield, and Pomperaug in season opener at home despite strong performance from freshman runners (story).
Girls Cross Country (1-2) beat Brookfield and lost to New Fairfield as well as Pomperaug, the former BHS Girls Cross Country Mark Goodwin’s new team (story).
Field Hockey (1-0) overcame opponent Masuk 1-0 to start off the season with a strong win in unseasonal heat (story).
Field Hockey hosted Newtown on Friday for the second game of the season. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Football (0-1) loses to Barlow 24-14 on Friday in the home opener despite quarterback Joe Piatnik ’14 running for two touchdowns (story).
Girls Soccer (0-1) fell to defending state champions Newtown at home with a score of 4-1 on Wednesday (story).
Boys Soccer (1-0) started out its season at home with a win against Masuk. Kyle Almeida scored the lone goal with 12 minutes remaining. In the 1-0 victory for the Wildcats. Leo Eaton ’14 had the assist and goalkeeper Matt Liquori ’14 was credited for the shutout.
Volleyball (0-1) lost its first game of the season against Weston, in Weston, on Thursday. The girls lost 2-3.
