College Visit: Northeastern

On October 4, 2010, a representative from Northeastern University came to Bethel High School to speak to students about the opportunities available at the college.

The representative informed students of the advantage of attending university known for its high ranking among U.S. universities in job placement. About 84% of Northeastern graduates are employed full time within nine months after graduation.

Additionally, Northeastern offers more than 80 undergraduate majors in 65 departments. Students can also choose between a four-year or five-year program. Northeastern also offers a variety of sports and intramurals including 18 varsity teams. The cultural diversity of the students at the university was also largely emphasized at the visit.

The admitted student profile was also discussed. Admitted students have a high school GPA that ranges between a 3.6-4.1. Average SAT scores range between 640-720 for math, 600-690 for critical reading, and 610-700 for writing. ACT scores range between 28-31.
