Mrs. Brill in the Culinary Department was nice enough to share yet another fall recipe. This time its Snickerdoodles; they are equally delicious and easy!
¼ cup margarine
¼ cup shortening
¾ cup sugar
1 3/8 cups flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
½ teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a medium bowl, measure flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Stir to blend and then set aside.
In a large bowl, cream margarine, shortening, and sugar together. Add egg and mix well.
Add flour mixture to the egg mixture.
In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together.
Shape dough into 1 inch balls and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
Place cookies 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake 8-10 minutes. Place cookies on cooling racks to cool.
