This year, BHS is participating in PJ Day, a fundraiser where the money collected goes directly to the Connecticut Children’s Hospital.  The purpose of PJ day is to raise money and awareness for children fighting cancer at Connecticut Children’s Hospital.  PJ Day has been an impactful and great way to get students, faculty and staff to participate.

This fundraiser has and will continue to impact the lives of thousands of children and their families fighting cancer.  BHS is just one of the many schools joining the fight against cancer and each student can make a difference.  Participating in this fundraiser is so simple and anyone can do it.

First, students wear their favorite pajamas to school.  Then, during advisory, they donate $1 or more to support Connecticut Children’s Hospital.

Ariana Lecates ‘23, an active member of the Kindness Club, encourages students to participate in PJ Day.

“I believe that everyone needs to participate and get involved with PJ Day because it is a fun and easy process that creates an impact on thousands of lives!” Lecates said.

In addition to PJ Day, the BHS Kindness Club has its annual Kindness Week 2022 coming up in just a few short months.  This year’s Kindness Week theme is, “Kindness Makes the World Go Round!”

Each year, the Kindness Club creates a T-shirt for students to wear during Kindness Week.  However, this year Kindness Club is asking students to participate and send in their designs for the t-shirt.

“The t-shirt design contest is one of the best ways to get involved in Kindness Week. All students can participate for a chance to win the contest, with a prize of a free kindness week shirt, a gift basket, and of course, bragging rights,” explained Ms. Wismar, one of the BHS Kindness advisors.

The design must connect back to the Kindness week theme, so get out your pencils and markers as this is the best way to have an impact on BHS Kindness Week 2022.
